Picket Lines
There are some changes for next week. The Gateway location is moving to the Whitemud South depot (99th Street and 34th Ave). The Calmar line will also not be up next week, but there will be a line in Devon.
For the most up-to-date picket line information, click HERE. If you are aware of a picket line that is not listed, please send the time and location to Communications730@gmail.com.
Strike Pay
The daily rate for strike pay is $63.42, to a maximum of 5 days in a seven day period. The period for week one started on Thursday, September 25th and runs until midnight on Wednesday, October 1st. Each week thereafter follows the same pattern.
If you did not stay on the picket line and/or you didn’t sign out, you will not be credited for that time. We are relying on your honesty and the record keeping from picket captains.
Strike cheques will be available on Monday, October 6th, at the location you picketed at first unless other arrangements have been made by the Sunday before distribution.
If you would like to make other arrangements for cheque pickup or if there are any concerns with your strike pay, please email sectreas730@gmail.comwith the exact issue, dates, times, and location that you were picketing at and we will try to address the issue.
This email address is specific to strike pay issues and will be the only way that strike pay issues can be addressed.

Picket Information for Tuesday
There have been lots of questions about picketing on Tuesday, September 30th, which is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The information that we received from National is that picketing will continue but members are being asked to wear orange, do land acknowledgements (for the Edmonton Local’s Land Acknowledgement for Treaty 6, click HERE), and invite an Indigenous speaker to speak on the line.
Within the City of Edmonton, the only picket line operating that day will be one at the Edmonton Mail Processing Plant (12135 149 St). There will be a BBQ from 1 pm until 3 pm.
Outside of the city, we are encouraging you to proceed how you wish. If that means shutting down the picket line for the day, that is fine. If you have any questions or concerns about that, please reach out to our Secretary-Treasurer at SecTreas730@gmail.com.
If you would like to find an event to attend in the Edmonton area to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, click HERE.

Any flyers/householders/Neighbourhood Mail in the facility are to be moved to a safe storage location. Your supervisor will decide where.
If there is no work in your section (such as Pubs & Ads and RVU), the Corporation is required to pay you for your shift. This is the position and hours of work that you used your seniority to bid into. You cannot be made to go home for the day or use vacation time, personal time, or days in lieu.
MSCs Do not load or transport flyer/householder/Neighbourhood Mail waste or recycling to or from the facilities. If there are any flyers in transport, unload to a safe location as provided by your supervisor.
