Local Dispatch (26/03/18)

Friends and comrades,

In this week’s Dispatch, we are covering contract details, our Local contract vote schedule, educational opportunities, and upcoming committee meetings.

Before getting to that, I just want to bring attention to the upcoming Basic Shop Steward course. There are two potential dates to attend with applicants from the cancelled course in January being given priority. Find more details about this below in the Education section.

Solidarity,

Kyle Turner, Communications Officer

Contract Updates

The most recent bulletin from National about tentative agreement contract details focuses on wages. According to this bulletin, these contracts will have the highest raises we’ve seen since 1982, as well as the benefits of having our wages for the final two years of our agreement tied to the Consumer Price Index (CPI). To read the full bulletin, click HERE.
