Friends and comrades,
In this week’s Dispatch, we are covering a negotiations update (frequently asked questions about the tentative agreements), the February GMM, upcoming educationals, and upcoming committee meetings.
Before getting to that, I would like to draw your attention to two points.
First, the We Together Strong Community 6th Annual Project Heart donation drive is ongoing until February 6th. For more details and donation locations, click HERE.
Second, there is a Community First Aid 101: Cold Weather training session happening on Saturday, January 24th, from 7pm until 9 pm at Earth’s Refillery Coop (10831 95th St). For more information, please see the community announcement section.

Negotiations Update
As of this writing, we still have not received word about the finalized language for STDP and personal days which would lead to us knowing more about the contract vote. We have, however, received a bulletin addressing some frequently asked questions: the RSMC hourly rate of pay system and the variable work week, what’s in the agreement for temporary workers in the Urban bargaining unit, and the Cost of Live Allowance. To read the full bulletin, click HERE.

February GMM
Our next GMM is on Saturday, February 7th, 2026 at 10 am. This is a hybrid meeting, so you can attend online via Zoom or in person at the office (18121 107 Ave NW). If you want to attend online, the deadline to register is Friday, February 6th at noon. For more information and to register to attend online, click HERE.

Upcoming Educationals
The upcoming Basic Shop Steward course that was scheduled for January 27th-29th has been postponed. There are still two other courses being offered by the Local: Temporary Workers and Their Rights (deadline to apply: Wednesday, February 4th at 5 pm) and Social Steward (deadline to apply: Wednesday, February 18th at 5 pm)

Upcoming Committee Meetings
The Social Committee has a meeting scheduled for Thursday, January 22nd at 7 pm via Zoom. For the link to attend this meeting, click HERE.

Community Announcements
- Community First Aid 101: Cold Weather: People who are living outside are especially vulnerable to cold weather, but anyone (housed or unhoused) can get frostbite, hypothermia, etc. or need overdose response. How can we offer to help in respectful ways, and what can we do? This workshop will be intro level; people don’t need any previous experience with first aid or medical training. To properly plan for supplies and setting up the space, we’re asking people to RSVP. People don’t need to sign into Google to fill out this form, and don’t have to give full name or legal name. Register at https://tinyurl.com/4j8dmxxk Masking is strongly encouraged and N95 masks will be available for anyone who needs one. Thanks for considering this, and we hope to see you at the workshop! (For more details and to see the poster, click HERE.)
