Friends and comrades,
We have a shorter Dispatch this week, covering today’s negotiations updates, the upcoming Social Committee meeting, and showing support for locked out Unifor workers.
Before getting to that, I would like to give a shout out to the Communications Committee for the recognition they have received at this years’ Canadian Association of Labour Media Awards.
Thanks to the hard work of the Committee, our Local has won the Katie FitzRandolph Award for best overall regular print publication produced by volunteers — best combined use of writing, graphics, design, editorial content and judgment.
This is also made possible by the submissions we receive to put in the newsletter. So thank you for your submissions!
Solidarity,
Kyle Turner, Communications Officer

Negotiations Update
This morning, the Minister of Jobs and Families Patty Hajdu made it clear that the government was siding with the Corporation and will be enforcing the Corporation’s request to force us to vote on their final offer.
We do not currently have the details of the vote aside from it being taken care of the Canadian Industrial Relations Board. Our National Office and our negotiations committees are recommending members vote no. We will share more information when we have it, and details will be shared over our text messaging service.

Upcoming Committee Meeting
The next Social Committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 19th at 6:45 pm via Zoom. Sounds like there are big plans, including a sports and picnic day and a camping excursion. If you’d like to attend and help plan such events, click HERE.
