International Women’s Day

Date: Sunday, March 8th
Time: Doors at 5 pm, Dinner at 6:30 pm
Location: Alberta Avenue Hall (9210 118 Ave)

Our theme to celebrate International Women’s Day 2026 is Resistance Rising! Time and again, resistance movements show that, however dark the day may be, the forces of war and destruction, oppression and dictate will not succeed in eliminating resistance.

On International Women’s Day, we celebrate all the women in Canada and the world who are fighting for their rights, their dignity, and a future where all human beings can thrive. Women are in the front ranks of these battles for their rights as workers, for health care and education, for housing and food security, for peace and the right of all nations and peoples to set their own course.

Following a delicious catered banquet, we will hear from women workers active in their unions, fighting for the rights of migrant workers, for Indigenous rights, for the right of the Palestinian people, climate activists and more.
