Local Dispatch (25/04/09)

Friends and comrades,

In this Dispatch, we are covering National's Hands Off Our Post Office! campaign, upcoming committee meetings, the Prairie School for Union Women, and the latest issue of the Inside Out.

Before getting to that, I would like to congratulate the newly elected members of our Local Executive now that our elections are over: Vanessa Danbrook (Grievance Officer), Karry Biri (Secretary-Treasurer), Ryan Theriault (1st Vice-President), Peter Hall (3rd Vice-President), and Rachel Lofranco (5th Vice-President).

Solidarity,

Kyle Turner, Communications Officer

Upcoming Committee Meetings

We have a number of upcoming committee meetings over the next few weeks for the Education Committee, Special Assessment Committee, Social Committee, and the Women's Committee. For links to attend these meetings, click HERE.

Prairie School for Union Women

The Women's Committee is still looking for members interested in attending the Prairie School for Union Women. For more information about the school, you can see the brochure HERE. If you are interested in attending, the Women's Committee would like applicants to send them a paragraph on why they would be a good candidate to send as a representative.

If you have any questions or would like to apply, please contact the Women's Committee at womenof730@gmail.com.

Latest Issue of the InsideOut

The latest issue of the InsideOut has been finished and should be at your work facility or arriving shortly. There is a commemorative sticker sheet included, so be sure to get your hands on that. If there are any concerns with the numbers we've sent (too few, too many), please let us know so we can update the list.

If you would like to see the digital edition of the latest edition, click HERE. You can also find the archive of our newsletter HERE.

If you would like to submit writing or artwork to the InsideOut, we are always accepting submissions. We can also help edit your writing, but you are welcome to reach out to the committee at Communications730@gmail.com if you have any questions or concerns.
