In this week's Dispatch, we are covering our local media campaign, a call for applications for our Regional Internal Organizing Committee, and a call for applications for the 2nd alternate for the Differently Abled Working Group of our National Human Rights Committee.

Local Media Campaign
 
At the February GMM, the Local passed a motion to create a committee of up to four (4) members with media expertise, experience, or knowledge that will work with the Communications Officer to create a media campaign. The goal of this campaign is to engage the public through social media, video, radio, Internet, television, print, public display, handbills, interviews, or any other method the committee feels would be beneficial.
 
If you are interested in applying to be on this committee, please send an email containing your name, work location, and some details of your relevant experience/training to Communications730@gmail.com with the subject line Media Committee Application. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, February 11th, 2025 at  5 pm.
 
 
Regional Internal Organizing Committee
 
CUPW is looking for members to join the Regional Internal Organizing Committee. For the Prairie Region, there are still four (4) vacancies. If you're interested in applying, submit a brief introduction of yourself, including which region you work in, relevant experience within our union, and a quick explanation of why you would like to join the Internal Organizing Committee. Please keep applications to between 100 and 200 words.

National Human Rights Committee: Differently Abled Working Group, 2nd Alternate
 
Our Regional office is currently looking for members who are interested in being the 2nd Alternate to the Differently Abled Working Group on the National Human Rights Committee. If you are interested in applying, please forward a short writeup (250 word maximum) regarding your Human Rights background and why you would like to participate on this committee, to lsmidt@cupw-sttp.org or by mail to 407-275 Broadway, Winnipeg  MB  R3C 4M6.
 
The deadline to apply is February 20th, 2025. For more information about the National Human Rights Committee, you can read Articles 4.07 to 4.10 of our National Constitution HERE.
