Negotiations Update

The most recent negotiations update from National focuses on the changes the Corporation wants to make to letter carrier routes under the label of "dynamic routing," which uses software to change routes depending on volumes, distances, and workloads. This would include a variable work week, with a carrier maybe working 8.5-hours on Monday but shorter days for the rest of the week; no route ownership, but bidding on a general area and waves; and "Permanent Flexible Employees," who are scheduled for a minimum of 3-hours per day but would stay up to 8-hours if the work was available.
