Friends and comrades,
In this week’s Dispatch, we are covering negotiations updates, week 3 strike pay, and some upcoming educational opportunities.
Before getting to that, there are three things to discuss. First, a big shout-out to the workers at EDDD for marching on their superintendent to deliver a petition today. This petition is about delaying a restructure and avoiding building routes during a period of artificially low volumes. Keep up the pressure and keep up the good work!
Second, our rotating strikes continue. To see who is currently on strike, check the top of www.cupw.ca. We will be using our texting service to send notification when we are on strike. If you have not signed up for that, you can do so HERE.
Third, if you would like to sign the Forever Canadian petition, there are only 3-days remaining to do so. It must be signed in person and to find a location to do so, click HERE.
Solidarity,
Kyle Turner, Communications Officer

Negotiations Updates
Representatives from our National office met with Minister Lightbound’s office on October 15th to discuss how repeated government intervention has delayed negotiations and how these changes that were announced will only hurt the public post office. Another meeting was scheduled for today, October 16th, but as of this writing, there has been no report back on that meeting. To read the latest bulletin, click HERE.

Week 3 Strike Pay
The cheques for week 3 will be available at the office on Monday, October 20th. Cheques that are not picked up on Monday will be mailed out on Tuesday, October 21st.
If you have any concerns about your strike pay, please email sectreas730@gmail.com with the exact issue, dates, times, and location that you were picketing at and we will try to address the issue. This email address is specific to strike pay issues and will be the only way that strike pay issues can be addressed.

Educational Opportunities
There are currently two Regional educational opportunities. One is an online Pension Whiz Seminar, the other is a 5-day joint educational between the Prairie and Pacific regions where you can apply to attend the Turtle Island or Social Steward courses. For more information and to find applications, click HERE.
