The next Women for Rights and Empowerment (W4RE) meeting is happening
Thursday, August 17th at
7 pm at the
CUPE 474 office (10989 124 Street -- enter from the back parking lot). If you wish to attend or be kept up to date on future meetings, you can contact W4RE at

W4RE is a grassroots group made up of women activists from unions and other community organizations who work together to educate, organize, and mobilize women in defence of their rights and the rights of all. For more information, you can visit the W4RE Facebook page

EDLC Barbecue and Labour School
Just a reminder that the EDLC has two events coming up. First is the Annual Labour Day Barbecue on September 4th at Clarke Stadium (11000 Stadium Road) from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. This event is free to attend and there will also be free food, a bouncy castle, and live music.

Edmonton Elks Salute to Labour
This September, the Edmonton Elks will be celebrating the local labour community with their Salute to Labour. The plan is to bring local unions to Commonwealth Stadium, celebrate the service provided by local unions, connect different unions at one event, facilitate and promote recruitment for unions.
For CUPW Local 730 members, tickets are being offered at a discount. If you wish to purchase discounted tickets as a CUPW member,
