Front Yards In Bloom - 25th Anniversary

CUPW Local 730 along with our partners, the City of Edmonton and the Edmonton Horticultural Society, are launching the 25th Anniversary of Front Yards in Bloom (a beloved tradition for gardeners, yard enthusiasts, and community members). Since 1999, this program has celebrated citizens who work hard to make their space beautiful.
It's easy to take part: nominate a customer's beautiful yard in your community or along your delivery route and help spread pride in their hard work. Lawn signs will be placed in nominated yards along with a brochure of recognition. Customers are very appreciative when their lawn is nominated by their delivery person, but this program also helps to foster community connections and is good public relations for our Local. Over 6,000 yards were nominated last year with approximately ⅓ (2000) nominated by CUPW members.
You can nominate directly on the City of Edmonton website at frontyardsinbloom.ca. On the form, please indicate that you are a postal worker. You can also take a picture of the yard to submit with your nomination.
On our Local website, cupw730.ca, you will find a nomination form you can use to nominate yards as well. Printed nomination forms are also distributed in the depots and the EMPP. Completed nomination forms can be dropped off or faxed to the union office (780-423-2883) or emailed to Front Yards in Bloom Coordinator Kathleen Mpulubusi (kmpulu@gmail.com).
Everyone who nominates a yard will have their name entered into a prize draw. Prizes have been donated by the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Native Plant Society, and more!
The deadline for nominations is July 1st.
