Day of Mourning
Each year, workers, families and friends gather
On April 28th.
Recognized as a day to remember
Our fellow workers
Who were killed, injured or suffered illness
From work-related accidents.
In the Province of Alberta
Last year we lost 165 workers.
Forever gone are those smiling faces
Of a loved one.
Someone’s father, mother, brother, sister
Grandma, grandpa or cousin
No longer with us.
On April 28th, take a moment
To reflect on the 165 workers
This province lost last year.
