Upcoming Committee Meetings and Educational Opportunities

The next Local educational opportunity is for Building Worker Power, which is being offered on May 10th and May 11th. The application deadline is Wednesday, April 26th. For more information and to find a digital application, please click HERE.
LEAF Equality Day Breakfast
One final reminder that the LEAF Equality Day breakfast is happening next Monday (April 3rd, 2023) from 7:30 am to 9:00 am at the Sandman Signature Edmonton (10235 101 street). This event is sponsored by our Local's Women's Committee.
For more information, please see our website post HERE.
Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA)
Over a year ago, ACTRA signed a new Collective Agreement with the Association of Canadian Advertisers (ACA) and Association des agences de communication créative (A2C). The Institute of Canadian Agencies (ICA), however, rejected the deal, proposed cutbacks, and locked out the workers. The ICA has also been using scab labour ever since.
ACTRA is now calling for a boycott of these union-busting brands that are using scabs. For more information about ACTRA and what they are calling for, you can visit their website HERE.
